Ruotsinojantien omenalaatikkotehdas osallistuu tulevana viikonloppuna Esitystaiteen Markkinoille Helsingissä ja tuo markkinoille uuden laatikkomallin. Tuoteperheen uusi vesa kantaa nimeä "S-BoX".
Laatikko on uuden polven pelikonsoli joka on rakentuu modernin 3D-varjoteknoligian päälle. "Huomasimme että omenalaatikoiden kysyntä on hemmetin kausiluontoista. Pakkohan tässä on yrittää kokeilla jotain ihan muuta. Tutkailimme markkinoita ja päädyimme siihen että nuoret pelaavat näitä pelejä ihan ympäri vuoden." Toteaa toimitusjohtaja Puurunen ja jatkaa: "Esityistaiteen Markkinat on meille aivan fantastinen tilaisuus lanseerata S-Box kohdeyleisölle. Lisäksi siellä toivomme voivamme verkostua luovien alojen tekijöiden kanssa. Meidän laatikkotehtaan toimintahan on ollut tähän saakka kovin insinöörivetoista ja siihen sisältöpuoleenhan sitä tarvittais lisää paukkuja".

Swedish Trench Road Apple Box Factory involved in the upcoming weekend performing arts market in Helsinki and will launch a new box model. A new branch of the family bears the name "S-BOX".
The box is the new generation of game consoles, which is built on a modern 3D-shadow technology on. "We found that the demand for apple boxes is damn seasonal. We had to try something else. We observed the market and we concluded that young people are playing these games pretty all year round." Says CEO Puurunen and continues:.. Meri Nikula on performanssi- ja äänitaiteilija. Hänen performanssinsa ovat voimakkaasti visuaalisia teoksia joissa tanssillinen keho ja ääni ovat pääosissa. Merin taiteellisten prosessien lähtökohtana on ihmisenä olemisen syvemmät virtaukset, ihmisyyden ydinkokemukset jotka suodattuvat meitä ulkokohtaisesti ohjaavien ja samalla alitajuisesti sisäistettyjen sosiaalisten ihanteiden ja normien läpi. Toisissa tiloissa on vuonna 2004 perustettu esitystaiteen kollektiivi. Ryhmän toiminnan ytimenä ovat kollektiiviset ruumiilliset harjoitteet, joiden kautta päästään kosketuksiin ihmisille vieraiden kokemus- ja olemismuotojen kanssa; vieraillaan toisissa tiloissa.

Other Spaces (Toisissa tiloissa) is a Helsinki based live art collective. Founded in 2004, the group consists of artists from various art fields. The core of the collectives action are collective physical exercises through which people can visit “other spaces”, i.e. enter in contact with the modes of being and experience other than human.

The collective invents and develops exercises, demonstrates them in public spaces and events, teaches them to people in workshops and creates thematic performances based on these exercises. I am a multi-disiplinary artist working with the video, photography, performance, sound and installation. Some people say I am a performance artist, but I prefer to identify myself as a visual artist, because my practise is broader than the term performance art refers to. Often my works, especially the lens-based performaces by which I am most well-known, have a twist towards theatre, text or the history of art (more preciesly historiography).

Using my own body and life experiences as a major part of my works, has made me think how dance, choreography and bodily remembering could work in the hands of the visual artist.

My aim is to find out the flexibility and possibilities of performance art – thinking outside of the box and merging it’s boundaries. I believe that being honest with the personal experiences gives the possibility to explore the humanity in larger scale. I salute the traditions of avantgarde, feminism, dada, Fluxus and the likes – which I’ll try to add into my language and style.

Risto Puurunen on Cleaning Women -yhtyeen perustajajäsen. Esitystaiteen markkinoille hän tekee installaation ‘Shadows in the Box’. Installaatio koostuu liikkuvista veistoksista joista muodostuu kolmeulotteisia varjokuvia kopin seinille.

Puurusen aiempia näyttelyitä ovat olleet suosittu ‘Shadows in the Air’ Oksasenkatu 11 -galleriassa (2014) sekä ‘Kylpy’ Olohuonenäyttelyssä (2015).

Risto Puurunen is a founding member of the Cleaning Women group. For Esitystaiteen markkinat he will create an installation called ‘Shadows in the Box’. The installation consists of moving sculptures that reflect three dimensioned shadowpictures on the walls of the box.

Former exhibitions by Puurunen are the popular ‘Shadows in the Air’ (2014) at Oksasenkatu 11 gallery and ‘Kylpy’ (2015) at the Olohuonenäyttely.

Tomasz Szrama on syntynyt Puolassa mutta asuu ja työskentelee Helsingissä. Hänen lyyriset teoksensa asettavat taiteilijan jokseenkin naiiveihin tilanteisiin joihin kuuluu punaviiniä, tupakan savua ja tuolilla tasapainottelua notkuvan pöydän päällä. Toiminnat Szraman teoksissa ovat tunnistettavia jokapäiväisiä tekoja irroitettuna kontekstistaan ja “väärin” käytettyinä. Hän antaa pölynimurin polttaa 10 savuketta tai hän rakentaa sirkusesityksen kaltaisia performatiivisia installaatioita joita peittää uhkaava pilvi joka muistuttaa meitä mahdollisesta epäonnistumisesta.

The lyrical work of Tomasz Szrama, who was born in Poland but lives and works in Helsinki, brings the artist into a somewhat naive situation with red wine, cigarette smoke and the balancing of a chair on a wobbly table. The actions in Szrama's work are recognisable, everyday actions, but taken out of context and "wrongly" applied. He lets a vacuum cleaner smoke 10 cigarettes or builds performative installations that sometimes almost equals a circus act, surmounted by a menacing imaginary cloud, that reminds us of possible failure.

The Mystic Revelation Of Teppo Repo sai alkunsa kevättalvella 2013, kun muusikot Eero Tikkanen ja Otto Eskelinen alkoivat soittamaan inkerinsuomalaisen paimensoittajan, Teppo Revon musiikkia. Myöhemmin mukaan tuli Arwi Lind.

Kokoonpanon soinnillinen paletti on laaja. Akustisten, jopa kamarimusiikillisten tulkintojen lisäksi T.M.R.O.T.R:n musiikissa yhdistellään Teppo Revolta taltioituja äänileikkeitä rumpukoneen rytmeihin, c-­kasettinauhalta toistettaviin ääniin, sekä improvisaatioon. Vaikka musiikillinen materiaali ammentaakin Teppo Revon perinteestä, on T.M.R.O.T.R:n estetiikkaan poimittu vaikutteita myös Dub-reggaesta, oldschool-­hiphopista, sekä kokeellisesta nauhamusiikista. T.M.R.O.T.R:n tavoitteena on loihtia kuulijalle mielikuvitusta verevöittäviä kuvia inkeriläisen paimenen elämästä (1800- ja 1900-lukujen taitteessa), sekä transformoida Teppo Revon tunnepitoinen musiikki uuteen futuristiseen muotoon.

The Mystic Revelation Of Teppo Repo began in the early spring of 2013, when the musicians Eero Tikkanen and Otto Eskelinen began to play the music of Ingrian Finnish shepherd caller, Teppo Repo. The band was joined by Arwi Lind later on.

The band’s sonorous palette is wide. In addition to acoustic, even chamber musical interpretations, T.M.R.O.T.R.'s music combines Teppo Repo’s audio clips to the rhytms of a drum machine and to c-cassette tape sounds as well as improvisation. Although the musical material draws from Teppo Repo’s tradition T.M.R.O.T.R. has picked influences also from Dub-reggae, oldschool hip-hop, and experimental tape music. T.M.R.O.T.R.'s goal is to conjure up inspiring images from the life of an Ingrian shepherd's life in the turn of 1800th and 1900th century and transform Teppo Repo’s emotional music to a new futuristic shape.

Mopo on potentiaalisimpia kotimaisen musiikin tulevaisuuden legendoja. Tämän energisen trion juuret juontavat kapakkatappeluun, jonka tiimellyksessä Linda, Eero ja Eeti löivät viisaat päänsä yhteen. Tästä kolauksesta syntyi Mopo – kolmikko, jonka vilpitön pörinä on valloittanut kuulijat puolelleen. Mopon musiikki ottaa vaikutteensa elämän iloista ja suruista. Ella Tahkolahti on kuvataiteilija jonka kuvat ovat tiloja ja pieniä esityksiä.

Tilojen keskiössä on katsoja. Esityksen keskiössä on esiintyjän ja katsojan suhde. Viime aikoina Tahkolahti on tehnyt performansseja kissasta ja sen erilaisista inhimillisistä ilmenemismuodoista.

Tahkolahden teoksia on voinut nähdä viimeksi Galleria Uudessa Kipinässä Lahdessa ja performanssitapahtumassa Kaunaksessa Liettuassa.

Ella Tahkolahti is a visual artist whose pictures are spaces and performances. The spectator is in the centre of these spaces. The core of performances is the relation between the spectator and the performer. Lately Tahkolahti has been making performances about cat in it’s different forms of manifestation in a human form. Tahkolahti’s works have been previously shown in Lahti Gallery Uusi Kipinä and at a performance event in Kaunas Lithuania.

Uusin tuotantoni 'Halurako' valmistui syksyllä 2014 rivojen kansanrunojen ympärille. Jokaisen kansanrunon takana on monta ihmisiä: joku, jolle on käynyt niinkuin runossa kerrotaan, toinen, joka on tehnyt sen riimeiksi, seuraava, joka kertoo sitä eteenpäin jne. Jokin siinä tarinassa on vedonnut ihmisiin niin, että se on jäänyt elämään. Kiinnostavan runon löydettyäni kysyin mielessäni 'mitä sitten tapahtui' ja jatkoin digitaalisen kansanrunoarkiston selaamista, kunnes joku toinen runo kertoi vastauksen. Näin syntyivät Matin ja Maijan kuvittelliset elämäntarinat. Esitystaiteen markkinoilla kuullaan 'Halurako' -esityksen naisen, Maijan tarina: Huulet irvellään.

Tiinaliisa Multamäki on sodankyläläinen kansanrunouteen hurahtanut lausuntataitelija ja tuottaja. Hän oli 2012 J.H. Erkko -lausuntakilpailun yleisön suosikki.

My newest performance ‘Halurako’ was made using raunchy folk poetry in the autumn of 2014. Every folk poem has many persons behind it: somene who has experienced the things told in the poem. The other one who has rhymed the experience. The next one who has passed the poem by telling it to others etc. Something in that poem has appealed to the listeners so much that this particular poem has stayed alive. When I found an interesting poem I asked myself what happened next and carried on browsing throught the folk poem archives until some other poem answered my question. This is how the fictional biographies of Matti and Maija came to be. At Esitystaiteen markkinat I will perform the other half of

ESITYSTAITEEN MARKKINAT 2015 | Taiteilijoiden esittely osa 9/22 | Introduction of the artists part 9/22

Hei, olen Rea-Liina Brunou, tanssi- ja esitystaiteilija. Viimeaikoina olen keskittynyt tekemään lähinnä omia, kevytrakenteisia sooloesityksiä ja pieniä yhteistöitä eri alojen taiteilijoiden kanssa. Mutta olen myös tehnyt tanssijan töitä lähinnä Liisa Pentti + Co:ssa. Viime kevään työskentelin synnyinkunnassani Kolarissa kuvaten metsäkauriita. Kuvista syntyi musavideo Kemiallisille Ystäville ja omakohtaisuuksista ammentava esitys Kauhriinmettästäjä – Deer Hunter (2014).

Alunperin lähdin Kolariin etsimään suuntaa työlleni nimeltä Eisso = eilen, huomenna. Yritän tutkia siinä ajan subjektiivista havainnointia.  Lopulta sekin työ on alkanut saamaan  muotonsa videona. Olen jatkanut kaurisprojektin jälkeen riistakameralla kuvaamista. Nyt vain kohteena on ollut  ihminen kotiympäristössään ja vuoden mittaan siellä hiipuva ja kasvava valo. Työstä tulee ehkä jonkinlainen lappilainen kotiseutumuseoteos.

Juuri nyt työskentelen Kutomolla Turussa uuden lapsille suunnatun esityksen parissa. Pohdin aisteilta piilossa olevia asioita ja merimakkaroita, tanssin ja kuuntelen Delia Derbyshiren musiikkia.

Yritän pyristellä pois liian henkilökohtaisista lähtökohdista esitysten teossa,  yritän nähdä toisen paremmin osana itseä ja ymmärtää muistikuvien valheellisuutta. Mutta myös kehon reittien yksityiskohtainen jäljitys ja jonkinlainen tanssijuuden purkaminen ja uudelleen kokoaminen ovat olleet nyt mulla työn alla. Olen ajatellut, että Esitystaiteen markkinoilla ammentaisin näistä kaikista asioista.

Hi, I am Rea-Liina Brunou, dance- and live-artist. Lately I have focused on doing mostly my own, light soloperformances and small collaborations with artists of different fields but  I have also worked as a dancer in Liisa Pentti + Co.

Last spring I worked in my birth municipality Kolari taking pictures of deer. The pictures turned into a music video for Kemialliset Ystävät and a personal performance Kauhriinmettästäjä - Deer Hunter (2014).

Originally I left to Kolari to find a direction for my coming work called Eisso = eilen, huomenna(Eisso = yesterday, tomorrow). In the work I try to study the subjective perception of time. This work too has started form as a video. I have carried on taking photos with a game camera after my deer project only this time the subject has been human in it’s home environment and the light that wanes and grows around it. The work might turn out to be a some sort of Laplandish Local History Museum.

Right now I am working on a performance for children in Kutomo, Turku. I'm thinking about the things hidden from the senses, and sea cucumbers, and I'm dancing, and listening the music of Delia Derbyshire.

I try to scrabble away from too personal starting points when doing performances. I try to see the other better as a part of myself and try to understand the falsehood of memories. Also I have been working on tracking down thoroughly the routes of the body and some sort of deconstruction of my dancerhood. I thought I would draw from all of these themes when doing my performance for Esitystaiteen markkinat.
